Cllr JOHN HARDY

Councillor John Hardy works tirelessly in the ward and for the ward.

Cow Close Community Corner will be opening soon with a job club, internet, a small range of books to borrow. Come along find out what is going on and join in. Have your say in what happens there.

Bawn Approach is still not right and lots of work still needs to be done after the re-surfacing.

Flooding problems

Flooding might be a problem for some people in the ward I will be writing to them all to let them know that some things can be done to help if their home is under threat.

New Advice surgery

I will be holding a new advice surgery that will be starting on 12th of January at 12.30 pm at Asda, Oldfield Lane, Wortley, LS12 4BP.
You will be able to come and have a chat with me about any issues you might be having with council services such as housing, bins being emptied, potholes, street lights or planning applications. I may also be able to help with such problems as anti-social behaviour and graffiti. I look forward to meeting you and hearing what you have to say about Council services. New Look for Park entrance

A new look to the entrance to Farnley Hall Park on Lawns lane. By now I hope you will see what has been done. It did not look very nice at all.

A lot of the parks in Leeds have a friend of the park. One of them is Friends of Middleton Park http://www.fomp.co.uk/ take a look at web site. May be its time Farnley Hall Park had a Friends of. So do get in touch with me about this I look forward to hearing from you about this. Inside the next two months I will be holding a public meeting about this. I will be in contact with you all to let you know the date and time of the meeting. Time for you to have your say about the park and what will be done from now on.

Bands in the parks are back. Come a long and have a nice time. I look forward to seeing you there.

Wortley Juniors Award night, Farnley Juniors Award night, the AGM of Lower Wortley Community Centre, Gamble Hill Residents Association AGM, Bawn Tenants and Residents Association meetings, Heights East and West Tenants and Residents meetings, PACT (Partners and Communities Together ) meetings in different parts of the ward.

John says:
"I do try to get to all meetings but sometimes I just cannot get to them all. Do let me know what is going on down your street - I am here to help. I regularly drive and walk round Farnley and Wortley ward to keep in touch with people.

For the next year I am on Plans Panel West, Resources and Council Services Scrutiny Board and sub on West Yorkshire Joint Services. I am also a school governor at Five Lanes Primary School in the ward.

I hold regular advice clinics, dealing with housing problems, anti social behaviour, traffic and parking problems to name but a few issues.

I have now been appointed a director of the ALMO West North West Homes."
