Currently about £17million, earmarked for community improvements is sitting unused in the city's bank account.
Under planning law the Council can enter into legally binding agreements with developers requiring them to provide funds to support the provision of services and infrastructure, such as highways, recreational facilities, education and affordable housing.
There are many possible schemes in our area that would benefit from some of that money being made available. It's time for the people of Farnley and Wortley to get their share of this money and our local Labour Councillor John Hardy will fight for it. |
